The “Caricaturiști români în colecțiile Bibliotecii Naționale a României” catalogue accompanied the exhibition of the same name, which was open from October 21, 2013 to January 31, 2014, at the National Library of Romania.

The catalogue presents works of famous caricaturists of the interwar period, including: Hacik Damadian, creator of ink wash drawings, tempera pieces, lithographs, caricature portraits, and thematic compositions that are remarkable for their satirical irony; Neagu Rădulescu, a prose writer whose creative work was consistently supported by his talent as a graphic artist; Nicolae Petrescu-Găină, a permanent presence at the Drawing and Engraving Salons organized in Bucharest and author of Albumul de caricaturişti contimporani (the Album of Contemporary Caricaturists), one of the first albums of its kind in Romanian art, published in 1898; and Ion Anestin, who, at the initiative of Vladimir Donescu, contributed to the weekly newspaper Vremea, where he managed the theater page and graphic design, illustrating prominent figures of Romanian politics in his caricatures, such as Nicolae Titulescu, Iuliu Maniu, Alexandru Averescu, and Octavian Goga.

Structured around the idea of the caricature as the graphic counterpart to the lampoon, each image is accompanied by an epigram created by talented literary figures of the era: Păstorel Teodoreanu, Cincinat Pavelescu, N. Crevedia, Victor Eftimiu, I. Nicolescu Chic, Tudor Măinescu, and Ion Minulescu.
